Serving local, regional and national clients, Bunnell Hill Partners was founded with the belief that business owners and operators deserved better than that typically provided by big-box consulting firms. With senior staff maintaining decades of experience in the C-Suite of  FinTech, Legal Tech and P2P consumer space companies, Bunnell Hill's team has not only operated in the trenches of fast growing businesses, they have seen the pitfalls often experienced with one size fits all consulting models.

From its Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters, Bunnell Hill serves family owned businesses, private equity controlled entities, as well as start-ups that are at a Pre-seed, Seed or Series A stage. Consultants are based around the country with Bunnell Hill also offering an off-shore technical development arm based in Bhavnagar, India.

Lee Midkiff, Managing Partner & Founder

A graduate of Indiana University, Lee Midkiff is a serial technology entrepreneur having founded and grown six start-up companies over his 20+ year business career. Lee has overseen technology start-ups from inception to market release and scale across diverse industries such as financial technology, legal technology and equine management.

Lee began his career as a founder of ExpressClose, a provider of information services and technology solutions for the finance industry. Growing the company from 3 founders to 270+ employees in a period of two years, ExpressClose serviced the needs of major national lenders such as Citibank and First Horizon. ExpressClose was eventually sold to a publicly traded mortgage insurance company whereby the core technology became the backbone for a $5BB organization.

Transitioning into legal technology, Lee founded CIN Legal Data Services, a provider of information services, consumer law software and legal forms to consumer law firms. Under Lee’s leadership, CIN Legal Data Services | the CIN Group grew to service over 18,000 law firms across the United States. CIN Legal Data Services was eventually sold to a private equity group and continues to be a dominant market leader in legal information services.

Focusing his attention on the equine sports market, Lee next founded Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and the equine management platform iStable. Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners quickly became the leading lifestyle / horse ownership syndicate in the thoroughbred industry running in prestigious races around the world including the Kentucky Derby and at Royal Ascot. Adding a technology platform to equine management, the iStable software platform streamlined the management, care and communication components associated with horse ownership in both the thoroughbred and show industries. Both Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and iStable were eventually sold and continue to be leaders in their respective fields.

Recently, as part of an engagement from the founding team of Quiktract, a P2P legal and contract platform for the freelance market, Lee was assigned the responsibilities of assisting the Founders with executing on their vision from the idea stage through market release. Lee assumed the role of CEO on an interim basis helping the company raise close to $1MM in pre-seed funding, develop the Quiktract application from its Indian and Belarus development locations, as well as plan and role out its market release. After one year in the market, Quiktract maintains over 21,000 clients, has attracted shareholders that include prominent entertainment industry personalities and NFL players, and is thriving under its newly appointed CEO. Lee still maintains the Board position of Chairman for Quiktract.

Most recently, Lee has assumed the role of Interim CEO for the Bunnell Hill insurtech start-up client  Vensura. Launched in Q4 of 2021, Vensura is automating the process of quoting and issuing day-of wedding liability and cancellation insurance with a mission to streamline the proof-of-coverage process for event venues. Vensura provides services in 37 states to hundreds of event venues in conjunction with one of the largest A rated insurance carriers in North America.

Lee resides in the northern Cincinnati suburb of Springboro, OH, where he lives with his family, coaches middle school basketball and enjoys working on the family farm.
